Our Environmental Initiatives
Air quality monitoring in neighboring villages:
Air quality monitoring in neighboring villages:
Monitoring of ambient air quality in neighboring villages is being carried out on regular basis with the help of a mobile monitoring van equipped with analyzers for monitoring SO2, CO, NO, NO2, NOx, PM10, PM2.5, Total HC, Methane, Non Methane HC, TRS, H2S, Benzene, Ethyl Benzene, OP-Xylene & Toluene.
Monitoring of ambient air quality in refinery:
Monitoring of ambient air quality in refinery:
Continuous monitoring of ambient air quality is carried out by four fixed stations inside the refinery with the latest analyzers for monitoring of SO2, CO, NO, NO2, NOx, PM10, PM2.5, Total HC, Methane, Non-methane HC, TRS and H2S. The data is displayed at the refinery main gate.
Betwa River Water Monitoring:
Betwa River Water Monitoring:
The quality of water in the Betwa River is monitored regularly through a MoEF approved lab at the upstream of the takeoff point and downstream of the confluence point.
Ground Water Monitoring in Villages:
Ground Water Monitoring in Villages:
The quality of ground water is monitored regularly through a MoEF approved lab for 14 locations in the neighboring villages.
Noise Monitoring:
Regular noise monitoring is carried out around the refinery boundary to ensure that the sound levels are well within the limits.
Green Belt
BORL has initiated a plantation programme for the development of the greenbelt in a phased manner. Local species are selected after due consultation with the Forest department .These plants are used to develop the green cover.
Additionally
Additionally, plantation is carried out in the township, along the roads and inside the refinery complex for further  benefits of greening like CO2 absorption & improved microclimate, etc.
